In 2024, content remains a powerful tool for connection and expression. However, many people hesitate to embark on their content creation journey due to the fear of judgment.
Rest assured, you’re not alone! Many creators, myself included, have grappled with similar anxieties: fear of negative feedback, self-doubt about expertise, and even camera shyness. Yet, despite these initial hurdles, countless individuals have found success in content creation.
This article outlines my journey and offers strategies to overcome common fears associated with creating content:
I had three things i wanted to achieve with my content:
- Create Velue
- Build my portfolio
- Build a community
So I broke down the most common fears people have when starting and tried to advise on how to tackle them:
How do I Create value:
This is only possible when you know your why. Why do you want to create content?
Why do you want people to listen to you? You have to answer that question because even when you start there will be points where you want to quit and you just want to sit back. This question will push you to continue. Knowing your why will help push you over the starting line
What do I say:
This is where most people get discouraged. You feel like there are 10001 people out there creating better content. But you have your own story, your style your own experience and even though you feel you are still at entry level, believe me, there is someone out there who wants to learn how to be at entry level too. On the other hand, you might feel like you have a lot to share. The solution to this is to share everything and see what resonates with your audience. Learn how to “fail fast, iterate, move on, and learn from each experience.
I Do not have Gear:
Gear should be the least of your issues. These days with a phone you could create viral content. Numerous apps enable editing, sound adjustments, and even AI-powered enhancements. You could use sound editing tools too.Focus on the message, not the equipment
If you want to learn how to shoot mobile videos on your own with little or no gear from the comfort od your home here is where to learn it:
What will people say:
Firstly, If you want to ever do anything that concerns content creation, what people will say should be the least of your concerns. I do not mean to say you should not take constructive feedback from your proposed audience but if your primary aim is to please people then you will burn out fast.
One way to avoid that is by just doing what you enjoy. Do you like to write and then start a blog, do you enjoy being in front of a camera then you can create video content. The bottom line is to just get yourself over the starting line.
Creating content in 2024 isn’t just about creating viral videos or gaining massive followers. It’s about sharing your passion, connecting with like-minded individuals, and building a community. Take the first step, embrace your individuality, and let your creative voice be heard. Remember, the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. So, take that step, and start creating!
